Thank you for helping us test the new marealtor.com website. We're still working on final wording and placement of a lot of content, but we wanted to solicit feedback about both structure and functionality at this point, to help us make final decisions about the site before it's made available to all MAR Members.
The site is still in beta testing, so expect unfinished sections, places where content abruptly ends, and plenty of red text reminders between MAR staff professionals about what needs to change on a page.
The main areas where we want to test things out are those where we've reorganized and consolidated content and changed the way it's presented - particularly Committees and our new Calendar.
That said, please feel free to browse around, and follow any links you like to wherever they lead you. We want to know that we're presenting information in a way that makes sense, and is as straightforward as possible. If you have any issues or comments we've created a feedback form that should help - please use it to submit your thoughts directly to me, and I will follow up on every suggestion and comment.

Committees, Task Forces, and Other Groups
One of the major overhauls to the site is a complete re-working of how we handle communication with our member volunteers. Our goal was to put everything member volunteers need to keep up with committee work in one place. Each committee and task force, as well as several other groups, have their own page that should incorporate everything you need. Please visit the Committees page to see your options.
Each committee page has information about the date, time, location, and options like conference call or web meeting details for attending the next scheduled meeting. Staff liaisons will keep this content up-to-date, and members should always check their committee page first for the latest information. Each committee page has a brief description of the committees' mission.
Each page also contains a Committee Forum, which will be used by MAR staff and committee members to facilitate group discussions between meetings, propose agenda topics, and generally provide a tool for committees to work as a group. MAR staff will post information about upcoming meetings, answer questions about committee operations and procedures, and make announcements related to your service in these forums. Expect fewer group emails related to your committee, and for staff to steer those discussions into the forum whenever possible.
Documents and Materials
Each page also has a document library that should be considered the up-to-date, authoritative source for documents and materials related to your committee. Minutes, agendas, supplemental materials like slideshows, reports, links, images, and anything else that's important will be uploaded here by MAR staff. If you request a copy of a document, your liaison will probably direct you to this section. If you have materials you'd like to share with the group, you can always upload them to a new forum post, but Your liaison may also re-post them in the library. At this time members cannot upload documents directly to this section - that's a functionality we may explore in the future.
Calendar of Events
We've completely redesigned the MAR calendar for the new website. The improvements we've made should make the calendar more useful, and make it easier for all members to find events they're interested in. We've also made it easier for our local associations to add events directly to the calendar, and will be helping to train local staff to use it so you can plan your schedule all in one place.
The new calendar has about 100 of next year’s events and meetings loaded, including all MAR Committee meetings, and we’re working with local associations to get their events input as well. You can sort events with the tag menus above the calendar, to find exactly what you’re interested in. You can also export your custom calendar to iCal format, which is compatible with Outlook, iPhone, and Gmail, as well as most other calendaring programs.
