Concord Resident and Broker to Serve on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®

Waltham, Mass. – December 2, 2011 – Laurie Cadigan, broker/owner of Barrett & Company in Concord, will serve as immediate past president of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) in 2012.
 
As the immediate past president of the Association, Cadigan will serve in an advisory capacity to the MAR president, act as an association spokesperson, and assist in the administration of the affairs of MAR between meetings of the MAR Board of Directors.  In this role, he also will serve on the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors during 2011.
 
A REALTOR® since 1988, Cadigan served as MAR President in 2011.  Prior to being elected president, Cadigan served as president-elect in 2010.  An MAR director since 2005, Cadigan was the vice-president of professional development in 2008 and 2009, a member of the Leadership Development and Business Development Committees in 2007, and the Executive, Finance and Government Affairs Committees in 2006.  Cadigan was the recipient of the MAR REALTOR® of the Year Award in 2007.
At the local level, Cadigan served as president of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors® from 2004 to 2006, was chair of the GBAR Nominating Committee in 2007, and was named GBAR REALTOR® of the Year in 2007.  
 
Active at the National Association of REALTORS®, Cadigan has served on the NAR board of directors since 2005, and was a member of the 2007 Business Issues Committee. 
 
Cadigan has successfully earned the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS), Certified Buyer’s Representative (CBR), and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) professional real estate designations. 
 
A resident of Concord, Mass., Cadigan is active in a number of local organizations including Concord Chamber of Commerce, serving as its president from 2004-2006.
