Waltham, Mass.- October 18, 2011 – The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) announced today that Robert Nahigian, a state-certified real estate training instructor and broker/owner of Auburndale Realty Co., in Newton, has been named the recipient of the 2011 Massachusetts Real Estate Educator of the Year Award. Nahigian was announced as the award winner at MAR’s Professional Awards Reception, which was held in conjunction with the Association’s 2011 Conference and Tradeshow at the DCU Center in Worcester.
“REALTORS® here in Massachusetts and across the country have benefited from the industry knowledge and teaching expertise of our 2011 Real Estate Educator of the Year Robert Nahigian,” said 2011 MAR President Laurie Cadigan, broker-owner of Barrett & Company in Concord. “It is the combination of industry knowledge and commitment to teaching that make people like Robert Nahigian and our other nominees so good at what they do.”
Robert Nahigian is a state-certified continuing education instructor in Massachusetts who writes, designs and teaches real estate courses and programs for state and local REALTOR® associations across the country. Courses he has written for the GRI curriculum include: Overview to Industrial Real Estate; Primer for Commercial Real Estate; International Real Estate; and Market and Negotiating Commercial Real Estate. Nahigian has been a past member of the MAR Commercial-Investment Council, Government Affairs Committee, Agency Law Legislative Task Force, Commercial State Overlay Board and the Education and Curriculum Committee.
Nahigian has been appointed to the National Association of REALTORS®’s Commercial Speaker’s Bureau. Nahigian has also developed specific commercial real estate courses for the Massachusetts Licensing Commission’s Education Subcommittee. He is also a Senior Instructor with the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS®.
The broker-owner of Auburndale Realty Co., in Newtown, Nahigian is accredited by the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR), the Counselors of REALTORSR® (CRE) and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).
